Environmental Reporting Training

Professional training on environmental reporting requirements including EPCRA, TRI, Tier II, air emissions, Title V, hazardous waste, toxics substances, and water discharges.

Advanced TRI Reporting Workshop

While TRI reporting has been around for quite some time, people are still making serious mistakes completing the report, as well as in threshold and release determinations. U.S. EPA enforcement activity provides useful insight to their expectations for thoroughness and documentation practices. This new 1-day workshop will show attendees how to correctly assess report applicability, perform and document MPOU threshold determinations, fill out the reporting forms with release/transfer data, and use TRIME-Web for reporting.

Basics and Best Practices Workshop – Toxic Release Inventory (TRI)

This new ½-day workshop will walk through the basics of Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) reporting. Additionally, the instructor will detail important best practices when preparing this report for your facility. The presentation will walk through performing and documenting threshold determinations, calculating releases and max on-site values, filling out the reporting forms with release/transfer data, and using TRIME-Web for reporting.

Introduction to Environmental Reporting and Recordkeeping Requirements

This 2-day course is designed for plant and corporate staff who need to know how to perform or manage compliance reporting and recordkeeping activities. The course covers such essential reporting topics as Tier II, TRI, air emissions, Title V, releases, hazardous waste, toxic substances, and water discharges. The course format includes best practices, common problems, and group exercises intended to maximize understanding of this challenging material. Course completion will enable attendees to:

  • Set up and organize a recordkeeping system
  • Determine reporting applicability and correctly complete required reports
  • Improve compliance and minimize NOVs due to reporting and recordkeeping problems

    TRI Reporting Workshop

Under the Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) Program, industrial facilities are required to inventory the amount of select toxic chemicals that they manufacture, process, and otherwise use each year and to prepare TRI reports for toxic chemicals that trigger reporting. TRI reports are annual summaries of a plant’s air, water, and waste releases that are made available to the public. Complying with the TRI program can require a large amount of effort and attention to detail. Even with years of TRI reporting experience, it is easy to make a mistake or fail to document critical assumptions. With EPA actively reviewing TRI data and using the data to guide their regulatory and enforcement priorities, there is never a better time to make sure your TRI is accurate and consistent with all of the available EPA guidance.

Do you correctly categorize metals versus metal compounds for TRI applicability and reporting purposes? Are you correctly applying the de minimis threshold when conducting your TRI applicability analysis? Do you correctly report TRI chemicals which are listed as ranges in the SDS? To find answers to these questions and many others commonly faced by industry, please join Trinity for a workshop where we go beyond the “how-to” and focus instead on common errors associated with complying with the TRI program, including TRI reporting applicability, exemptions, threshold determinations, release calculations, and completing the Form R’s and Form A’s in TRI-ME web. Trinity will also discuss our experience with self-disclosure under the TRI program and the steps needed to revise historical TRI reports.
